JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/28/2006 - The No. 6 ranked 麻豆视频 Lady Bulldogs topped No. 11 Cumberland 64-62 on a last second shot by Tiffany Fisher. The win for 麻豆视频 moves them to 16-4 overall and 3-1 in the TranSouth. In the men's game, 麻豆视频 pulled away from Cumberland in the second half to win 89-71. The Bulldogs improved to 17-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play. With the 麻豆视频 win, combined with Trevecca Nazarene's 76-70 loss at Lyon, puts 麻豆视频 into a tie for first place in the league standings.
In the women's game, 麻豆视频's Fisher scored the game winning basket with one second left on the clock to give 麻豆视频 the win. In the game, only four of 麻豆视频's 64 points came from post players. 麻豆视频's leading scorer, Josephine Owino, missed her second straight game and third in the last five games with an injury.
The 麻豆视频 Bulldogs led just 38-36 at the half but stretched the lead in the second half. 麻豆视频 shot 56 percent from the field including 58 percent (11-19) from behind the arc. The Bulldogs also made 8-of-9 free throws for 91 percent.
Up next for the 麻豆视频 men and women will be home games on Thursday, February 2 versus Martin Methodist College (Tenn.). The women's game will begin at 6 pm with the men's game to follow at 8 pm.
