JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/21/2006 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs got back on the winning track with a big 85-47 win over Blue Mountain College (Miss.). No. 5 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improved to 14-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. Blue Mountain fell to 9-10 on the season and 2-2 in league play.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ played a sluggish first half as the Lady Bulldogs held just a 33-30 advantage at the break over the Toppers. However, in the second half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ exploded to outscore Blue Mountain 52-17 to take the 85-47 win. The Lady Bulldogs shot just 32 percent in the first half, including only 25 percent (5-20) from behind the arc. In the second half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ made 54 percent of the shots, including 42 percent (5-12) from behind the arc. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Ena Daniels with 16 points with DJ Sissoko and Tiffany Fisher each added 10 points. All but one Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ player score in the game.
Blue Mountain was led by Laketia Petty with nine points and 10 rebounds. The Toppers shot just 37 percent from the field and didn't make a three pointer (0-8) in the game.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home game on Thursday, January 26 when they play host to conference foe Lyon College at 6:00 pm.
