Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Men Fall to TNU on the Road, 68-61

JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/19/2006 - The No. 3 ranked Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldogs took a tough road loss to a very hot shooting Trevecca Nazarene University team, 68-61. Trevecca Nazarene made 12-of-20 three pointers (60 percent) to earn the win. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ fell to 14-3 on the season and 0-1 in the conference, while Trevecca Nazarene improved to 15-2 overall and 3-0 in league play.

Trevecca Nazarene jumped out to a quick 12-2 lead to start the game and led by 10 again in the first half at 37-27 with 2:29 left. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ rallyed to cut the halftime lead to just 40-34. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ had their best five minutes of the night when they went on a 12-0 run to start the second period. With that run, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 46-40 with 14:56 left in the game. However, Trevecca Nazarene, answered with a 12-0 run of their own to re-take the lead at 52-46 with 6:47 left as Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ went just over eight minutes without scoring a point. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ cut the lead to one point at 60-59 with 2:17 left to play, however, couldn't get over the hump as Trevecca Nazarene took the win 68-61.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Deywane Lee with 14 points, while Kinley Sellers and Ben Frederick added 13 points each. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ made just 3-of-16 (19 percent) from behing the arc.

Trevecca Nazarene was led by Jerod Perry with 23 points and Josh Helton with 19 points. Both players made 5-of-8 three pointers in the game, combining for 10 of the Trojans 12 three pointers in the game. Over half of Treveca Nazarene's points came from behind the arc.

Up next, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be playing at home for just the sixth time this season as they host TranSouth foe Crichton College at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 21. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is 5-0 at home this season.
