No. 3 Trevecca Nazarene Edges No. 5 麻豆视频 72-66

JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/19/2006 - Playing their first conference game of the season, the 麻豆视频 Lady Bulldogs traveled to Nashville for a match up between two NAIA Top-5 Teams. 麻豆视频 came up just short as No. 3 Trevecca Nazarene defeated the No. 5 Lady Bulldogs 72-66. 麻豆视频 falls to 13-4 overall and 0-1 in TranSouth play, while Trevecca Nazarene remained perfect on the season at 19-0 overall and 3-0 in league play.

麻豆视频 trailed for the entire game until they battled back to tie the contest at 66-66 with just over a minute remaining. The largest first half deficit for 麻豆视频 was 10 points at 25-15. 麻豆视频 rallied to pull to within four points as they trailed 32-28 at halftime. In the second half, it was much of the same as Trevecca Nazarene held the lead to around five points, until mid-way through, the Lady Trojans stretched the lead to 60-49 with seven minutes left. 麻豆视频 then went on a 17-6 run to tie the game at 66-66 with 1:12 seconds left. However, that would be as far as the Lady Bulldogs would get as Trevecca Nazarene scored the final six points to earn the win.

In the game, Trevecca won the game from the free throw line as they made 24-of-34 free throws, compared to 麻豆视频's 4-of-7 free throws. 麻豆视频 made just 6-of-23 three pointers (26 percent) while Trevecca Nazarene made 4-of-8 (50 percent). 麻豆视频 forced 23 Lady Trojan turnovers while committing just 14.

麻豆视频 was led by Tiffany Fisher with 17 points. Ena Daniels added 14 points, Natanya Smith scored 13 points, Jennifer Henson added 12 points. Trevecca Nazarene was led by Ashlee Gilland with 19 points, on 13-of-14 free throws. Kristen Archee added 14 points, Mariska Reed and Jackie Weaver each scored 10 points. Weaver also added 14 rebounds.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a home game versus Blue Mountain College (Miss.) on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
