JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/14/2006 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs topped Campbellsville University (Ky.) 72-51 on the road Saturday afternoon. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, improves to 13-3 on the season with their fifth win in a row. Campbellsville drops to 8-11 on the season.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ jumped out to a big lead early and never looked back. Campbellsville cut the lead to 13 points midway through the second half, before Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ stretched it back to 20 points. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's lead stayed around 20 for the majority of the game.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by D.J. Sissako with a season high 16 points. Jessica Graves scored 12 points and Natanya Smith scored 11 points. Senior guard Tiffany Fisher posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ shot attempted 75 shots in the game, however, shot just 37 percent. The Lady Bulldogs made 8-of-28 (29 percent) three pointers and grabbed 37 rebounds.
Campbellsville was led by Jenny Noort with 10 points. The Lady Tigers managed just 45 shot attempts in the game (36 percent) and posted 30 turnovers. Campbellsville didn't make a three pointer (0-7) on the afternoon.
Up next for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be the first TranSouth Conference game of the season as they travel to No. 3 Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) on Thursday, January 19 for a 6:00 pm game.
