麻豆视频鈥檚 Sellers Earns Second TranSouth Player of the Week Honor

JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/9/2006 - of 麻豆视频 University is the TranSouth Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 8, 2006.

Sellers, a 6-foot-5 senior forward from Cordova, Tenn., helped lead the NAIA No. 3 Bulldogs to a 1-0 week with a 104-98 OT win at NAIA No. 1 Mountain State University (W. Va.). Sellers scored 29 points after hitting 10-of-16 from the field and 8-of-12 from beyond the three-point arch. The eight made three-pointers is two shy of the 麻豆视频 record held by current graduate assistant Chima Abakwue. Sellers hit 1-for-2 from the foul line and added a rebound, an assist, and a steal.

This is the second time this season that Sellers has been selected as the TranSouth POW. It is the fourth time a 麻豆视频 Bulldog has won the award in the eight weeks the award has been handed out this season.

The Bulldogs are 13-1 on the season through the first half of one of the toughest schedules in the country. In 麻豆视频鈥檚 first 14 games, the Bulldogs are 9-1 versus ranked teams, 9-1 away from home, and 4-0 at home. 麻豆视频鈥檚 only loss was to No. 6 LSU-Shreveport on a neutral court by the score of 92-86. The road doesn鈥檛 get any easier for 麻豆视频 going into conference play. After winning at No. 1 Mountain State, 麻豆视频鈥檚 next three games are versus top NAIA teams (at No. 19 Lambuth, home versus No. 28 Lindsey Wilson, and at No. 10 Trevecca Nazarene).
