Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs Move Up in NAIA Polls

JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/4/2006 - Both of the basketball teams at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University moved up one spot each in the latest NAIA National Rankings. The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Bulldogs, after knocking off a ranked Oklahoma City team on the road just before Christmas, moved up to the No. 3 in the . While the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldogs, who stopped their longest losing streak in 13 years with a 45-point win over No. 30 Berry, jumped up to No. 7 in the .

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men resume play this Saturday when they travel to Beckley, West Virginia to play the No. 1 team in the nation in Mountain State University. The Bulldogs are 12-1 after a very tough first half of the season. In those first 13 games, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ defeated eight ranked teams with six of those wins coming on the road. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's only loss was to No. 6 LSU-Shreveport on a neutral court by the score of 92-86. In Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's first six games in January, five of them will be versus ranked teams, including the first four (at No. 1 Mountain State, at No. 19 Lambuth, vs. No. 28 Lindsey Wilson, and at No. 10 Trevecca Nazarene).

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldogs open play this weekend also versus Arkansas Baptist and Brescia in the Lambuth Classic. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ then plays three tough road games (at No. 21 Lambuth, at Campbellsville, and, at No. 4 Trevecca Nazarene).
