Â鶹ÊÓƵ Men Advance to TranSouth Soccer Championship

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/4/2005 - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ University men's soccer team earned a trip to the TranSouth Conference title game with a 1-0 win over Martin Methodist College in the semifinals this afternoon. Â鶹ÊÓƵ, the second seed in the tournament, improves to 12-1-1 overall, while Martin Methodist falls to 9-4-5. With the win, Â鶹ÊÓƵ assures themselves of at least an at-large bid to next week's NAIA Region XI Tournament in Colubmia, Ky.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ scored on a penalty kick goal by Gareth Munro in the 75th minute to give Â鶹ÊÓƵ the lead and eventual win. Robert Stinson recorded three saves for Â鶹ÊÓƵ.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ play in their second straight TranSouth Tournament championship game and third overall in school history. A win over Cumberland, the regular season champion, would give Â鶹ÊÓƵ their first ever soccer conference title.
