Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Men's Soccer Gets Overtime Win at Freed-Hardeman

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/4/2005 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University men's soccer team scored four minutes into the first overtime to give the Bulldogs at 1-0 win over conference foe Freed-Hardeman. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improves to 8-1 on the season and 2-1 in the conference. Freed-Hardeman falls to 6-5 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Kirk Childers, a junior from Florence, Alabama, scored the goal off of a corner kick play with the assist going to Bobby McColl. This was Childers' first goal of his Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ career.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ now sits in second play in the conference standings at 2-1 behind leader Cumberland at 4-0 in league play. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's only loss to this point in the season is to No. 24 Cumberland.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is a home non-conference match versus Oakland City University on Saturday at 7:00 pm.
