JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/7/2005 - After spending two seasons at the University of Evansville (Ind.), has decided to transfer to 麻豆视频 University for his final two seasons of college basketball. Lee, a 2002 graduate of Cordova High School, will enter 麻豆视频 this fall as a junior.
Lee, a 6-foot-8 225-pound forward, will bring great athleticism to the Bulldogs. He joins a fellow Cordova native Kinley Sellers on the 2005-06 麻豆视频 Bulldog roster.
麻豆视频 head coach Ralph Turner states, 鈥淲e are excited about the late pickup of Deywane. By watching Deywane play, you can tell that he has been taught to play the game by some of the best. He is long and athletic and relentless on the boards.鈥
While at Cordova High School, Lee helped lead his team to the state tournament in Murfreesboro. He averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds as a senior. In doing so, Lee was named first team All-State, first team All-Metro, and first team All-District. He also was a three-time Best of Preps selection by the Commercial Appeal. His father, Keith, is the University of Memphis鈥 all-time leading scorer and rebounder.
As a sophomore at Evansville, a member of the NCAA Div. I Missouri Valley Conference, Lee averaged seven points and five rebounds per game in 25 contests, starting 11 for the Aces while shooting .548 from the floor. Lee produced double-doubles against Illinois-Chicago and Southwest Missouri State while scoring a career-high 17 points against Eastern Illinois. He reached double figures in points seven times as a sophomore.
