This award is based on a point system that awards each school for their finishes in each regular season of the possible 13 sponsored TranSouth sports. Each team earns points for their finishing position, the higher the finish, the more points the school earns. The totals are then divided by the number of sports in which the school participates.
Sports must have at least four school sponsored teams to count toward the total.
