Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Women’s Cross Country Adds Alabama Runner

JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/7/2005 - , a native of Madison, Alabama, has signed to run cross country for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs. Bond will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a freshman and will be majoring in elementary education.

Bond, a 5-foot-9 runner, participated in three sports while prepping at Bob Jones High School in Madison. In addition to her two seasons of cross country, she also played three seasons of basketball and ran four seasons on the track team. Bond was named All-Metro and All-Section in 2003 and 2004 for her efforts in cross country. She also added three All-Metro selections from 2003-2005 in Track and Field. Bond posted a personal best 19:58 in the 5K distance, 2:26 in the 800m, 5:28 in the 1600m, and 11:40 in the 3200m.

Academically, Bond succeeded as well. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Spanish Clubs. Bond also graduated in the top 10 of her class. Bond received the Good Citizen Award and the Leadership Award.
