Three Lady Bulldogs Named Softball All-Americans

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/26/2005 - Three 麻豆视频 University softball players where named to the . Juniors Danielle Pope and Holly Haycraft were each named to the first team, while junior Mary Kosco was named an honorable mentioned performer. This announcement comes on the heels of 麻豆视频 fifth straight NAIA Softball National Tournament appearance and their fourth NAIA Region XI Title in the past five seasons.

, a 6-foot-0 first baseman from Phoenix, Arizona, received this honor following her Region XI Player of the Year award, and her first team All-Region and All-Conference selections. This season, Pope set a new record for homeruns in a season at 麻豆视频 with 14. She leads 麻豆视频 with a .423 average, 80 hits, 14 homeruns, 64 RBI, a .714 slugging percentage, and a .477 on-base percentage. Pope also posted 13 doubles and 22 walks on the season, both good for second on the team.

, a 5-foot-6 outfielder from Dyersburg, Tennessee adds this All-American honor to her first team All-Conference and All-Region selections. Haycraft also was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete. On the season, she is hitting .379 and has also stolen 55-of-59 bases on the season. She is 麻豆视频鈥檚 career stolen base leader with 140 in her first three seasons. Haycraft broke the old record of 63 career steals early in her sophomore season. This season鈥檚 55 stolen bases is her career high and a new team record for stolen bases in a season.

, a 5-foot-5 pitcher from Herrin, Illinois, earns this honorable mentioned honor on the heels of her first team All-Region and All-Conference selections. She was also named an NAIA Scholar Athlete. Kosco was also named the conference and region Pitcher of the Year. She leads the conference and region with a 0.95 ERA and has a record of 26-10. Kosco has tallied 232 strikeouts in 207.1 innings pitched.
