Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Women’s Soccer Adds to Inaugural Roster

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/17/2005 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women’s soccer program has signed of Jessup, Maryland to play soccer for the newly formed team this coming fall. Steele will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this August as a junior and will be majoring in Nursing.

Steele, a 5-foot-9 keeper, is transferring to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ from Howard Community College where she played one season of soccer. In the fall of 2004, Steele recorded eight shutouts for Howard on the way to leading her team to the Division III Championship. She was named to the All-Tournament team.

In the fall of 2003, she played travel soccer with the Thunder. During that season, Steele recorded nine shutouts as her team captured the Division II Championship.

Prior to her season at Howard, she was a two sport athlete at Hammond High School in Columbia, Maryland. There, Steele played a season of junior varsity soccer, three seasons of varsity soccer, and two seasons of junior varsity basketball. In 1999, she was named the MVP of the junior varsity soccer team. Then, as a senior in 2002, Steele was honored with the Coaches Award and served as team captain. In 2000-01, as a member of the junior varsity basketball team, she was named the defensive MVP, as well as, serving at team captain.
