麻豆视频鈥檚 Joseph Nearing David Robinson鈥檚 Block Record

Jackson, Tenn. - 2/22/2002 - Senior forward Robert Joseph is knocking on the door of David Robinson鈥檚 single season block record of 207 set back in 1986. Joseph is currently sitting on 202 for the season (6.97 blocks per game). With two regular season games remaining, plus the post-season games, Joseph is almost assured of reaching this mark. When he passes 207, he will become the single season blocks leader for all of college basketball (NAIA I & II and NCAA I, II, & III).

Joseph, from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, has already broken the NAIA Div. I record for blocks in a season when he passed Gus Johnson鈥檚 mark of 181 back on February 9. In the first game of this season, Joseph tied the school record for blocks in a game with 10, and then broke the record the next night with 12 blocks in the game. He has blocked 10 or more shots eight times this season. Added to that, Joseph has almost tripled the old school record of 70 blocks in a season.

Blocking shots is not all he does for the No. 5 ranked 麻豆视频 Bulldogs. Joseph is leading the TranSouth Conference in scoring at 21.9 points per game and is second in rebounding with 9.4 per game. He is also shooting 63% from the field. Joseph has been named the NAIA National Player of the Week once and has been selected as conference Player of the Week four times.

麻豆视频, currently 26-4 overall and 9-2 in conference play, finishes out the season with two home games. First is this Saturday, Feb. 22 as they will host Lyon College at 4:00 p.m. With a win, 麻豆视频 will clinch the TranSouth Conference regular season title for the first time since 1998-99. For the last game of the season on Monday, Feb. 25 at 7:00, 麻豆视频 will look to make right an earlier overtime loss to cross-town rival Lambuth University.
