JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/1/2005 - Three soccer players from Lexington High School have signed to play their college soccer for the Bulldogs of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University. John Hawley, Michael Lee, and Brian Jones will all enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as freshmen. This is just the third season of soccer at Lexington High School and these three players mark the first soccer players to sign on with a college program.
, a 6-foot-0 native of Reagan, Tennessee, played three seasons of soccer at Lexington at the midfield position. In addition to soccer, Hawley also was a member of the Lexington cross country team for two seasons. In soccer, he served as team captain for the Lexington Tigers in each of the past two seasons and is currently serving as team captain as a senior. Hawley also was named team MVP of his soccer travel team in 2001-02.
, a 6-foot-1 defender from Lexington, also played three seasons of soccer at Lexington High School.
, a 5-foot-11 forward from Lexington, has also been a member of the three-year old soccer program at Lexington for each of the three seasons. He was named All-District and All-Tournament as a sophomore in 2003. As a first time soccer player, Lee tallied a combined 16 goals in his first two seasons at Lexington.
