HENDERSON, Tenn. - 12/11/2004 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldogs recorded their 10th win of the season as they defeated Arkansas Baptist College . No. 18 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improves to 10-3 on the season.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 31-28 at halftime after struggling from the field in the first half. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ managed just 39% from the field and 27% (3-11) from behind the arc. In the second half, the Bulldogs shot some better with 46% of their shots falling, including 5-of-15 from three point range. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ committed 18 turnovers and was out-rebounded 42-39 in the game, including 20 to 10 on the offensive bourds, but came away with a win none the less. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ held Arkansas Baptist to just 34% shooting form the field and 33% (4-18) from behind the arc.
The Bulldogs were led by Bruno Martinessi with 14 points and eight rebounds. This marks the second straight game that Martinessi has led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in scoring. Corey Burkett added 14 points also with four three pointers. Courtney Jones tallied 12 points and Pierry Valmera scored 10 points.
Arkansas Baptist was led by Octoavious Bailey with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Alvin Morris scored 14 points for the Buffaloes.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is off until January 8, 2005 when they travel to the defending NAIA National Champion and current No. 2 ranked team in the nation, Mountain State University in West Virginia.
