HOUSTON, Texas - 11/30/2004 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, defeated No. 5 Houston Baptist University (Texas) 73-61. This marked the first loss for Houston Baptist at home in 34 games. With the win, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ moves to 11-0 on the season and remain the only undefeated team in the Top 7 of the NAIA preseason polls. The first regular season NAIA National rankings come out next Tuesday, Dec. 7. Houston Baptist falls to 4-1 on the season.
Through the 11-game winning streak to start the season for the Lady Bulldogs, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has defeated the No. 2 Vanguard, No. 3 Oklahoma City, No. 5 Houston Baptist, and No. 7 North Georgia.
In this game, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led again by senior forward Stephanie Clark with 20 points and 16 rebounds to record her NAIA leading 10th double-double of the season. Merideth Richardson tallied 19 points, including four three pointers. Tiffany Fisher added 16 points on three shots made from behind the ark.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but saw the lead fall to just five points inside two minutes remaining. Jennifer Henson tallied six points in the game, all on free throws, to help seal the 12-point win for the Lady Bulldogs.
