Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldogs Open Season with Big Win

HENDERSON, Tenn. - 10/30/2004 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University basketball team started the 2004-05 season with a bang as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Central Baptist College (Ark.) 117-32. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is 1-0 on the season as Central Baptist falls to 0-2.

All but one Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ player scored in the game with senior forward Stephanie Clark leading the way with a double-double (27 points and 12 rebounds). Freshman guard Merideth Richardson added 20 points including 4-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. Fellow Bradford native Jennifer Henson tallied 12 points including 3-of-5 shooting from three point range. Paola Ferrar and Tiffany Fisher scored 11 and 10 points respectively. Seven different Lady Bulldogs made at least one three pointer.

For Central Baptist, Becki Henry led with nine points while Brandi Limpsmeyer tallied sic rebounds.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led this contest 61-11 at the half and shot 59% from the field, 41% (12-29) from three point range, and 64% (9-14) from the free throw line. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ outrebounded Central 49 to 20 and force 40 Lady Mustang turnovers.

Up next for the Lady Bulldogs will be their home opener on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 pm versus Loyola University-New Orleans.

The men's team will open their season at home this coming Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 8:00 pm versus Williams Baptist. This game will immediately follow the Lady Bulldog volleyball match versus Freed-Hardeman at 6:00 pm.
