麻豆视频 Cross Country Sweeps TranSouth Conference Results, Awards

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/29/2004 - The 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 cross country teams earned first place in the held in Jackson. For 麻豆视频, this was their second straight TranSouth Conference title for the women and first title for the men. In both the women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 race, 麻豆视频 posted the top five finishers in the conference meet.

In addition to the team championships, 麻豆视频 swept the individual awards as well. On the women鈥檚 side, senior Jackson native, Janelle Campbell was named the Runner of the Year as she finished first in the conference meet. Candace Cross was named the Freshman Runner of the Year with a third place finish. On the men鈥檚 side, Phillip Thompson earned the Runner of the Year and Freshman Runner of the Year with his first place finish. 麻豆视频鈥檚 head coach Gary Johnson was named both the women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 Coach of the Year in the conference.

Six 麻豆视频 Lady Bulldogs were named to the TranSouth All-Conference team. This team is made up of the top seven finishers in the conference meet. Janelle Campbell, Ruth Schroder, Candace Cross, Jill Konkol, Kate Graham, and Rachel Cazalas were each named for 麻豆视频.

Five men earned All-Conference for 麻豆视频. Phillip Thompson, Chris Winter, Douglas Martin, Clint Channell, and John Fox were each named to the team.

Up next for the 麻豆视频 cross country teams will be the NAIA Region XI meet on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Louisville, Ky.
