JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/19/2004 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University volleyball team has used a string of 11 straight wins to climb to the No. 11 spot in the latest . This ranking for the Lady Bulldogs is up two spots from last week’s No. 13 spot. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is 16-1 overall on the season and their 6-0 record in the TranSouth Conference is good for first place with three conference games remaining. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has yet to loose to an NAIA opponent this season as their only loss came at NCAA Div. II opponent, Christian Brothers University (Tenn.).
In addition to the team’s success, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ boasted two players with individual honors from this past week as and received the TranSouth Conference and NAIA Region XI Setter and Libero of the Week respectively. These two seniors helped the Lady Bulldogs of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University go undefeated on the week. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was 2-0 this week with victories over TranSouth rival Lyon College and Region XI opponent Cumberland College (Ky.)
Garber is a 5-foot-7 senior from Columbus, Indiana. For the week, Nicole averaged 12.25 assists per game (98 assists in 8 games played) and recorded 15 digs and 3 service aces. On the season, Garber has received five TranSouth Setter of the Week honors and twice named NAIA Region XI Setter of the Week.
Shein, is a 5-foot-7 senior from Lighthouse Point, Florida. For the week, Shein averaged 4.75 digs per game and attempted 51 passes with only 6 errors. Shein has received four TranSouth Libero of the Week honors and has been named Region XI Libero of the Week three times this season.
