Lady Bulldogs Earn Highest National Ranking in 麻豆视频 Volleyball History

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/13/2004 - More Honors Roll In for Lady Bulldogs

麻豆视频 University is now in its seventh season of varsity women鈥檚 volleyball and this week鈥檚 Rankings proved to be a historic one for the Lady Bulldogs. 麻豆视频 moved up from No. 20 last week to No. 13 in this week鈥檚 poll. Last week, 麻豆视频 posted wins over TranSouth rival Trevecca Nazarene, and nationally ranked teams Georgetown College (#10) and Indiana University-Southeast (#30). 麻豆视频鈥檚 previous highest NAIA National Ranking was No. 17 in this year鈥檚 pre-season national poll.

Also on the week, 麻豆视频 continued to mount honors as three Lady Bulldogs swept the TranSouth and Region XI Honors. Gladys Wandera was named Player of the Week, Nicole Garber was named Setter of the Week, and Allison Shein was named Libero of the Week. This group of three seniors has led 麻豆视频 to a 13-1 overall record and a 5-0 mark in the TranSouth.

, a 6-foot-2 senior from Kakamega, Kenya, was a major player in leading 麻豆视频 to an undefeated week at 3-0. For the week Gladys averaged 5.00 kills per game, 1.25 digs per game, and 1.17 blocks per game. Wandera leads 麻豆视频 with 277 kills, 5.89 kills/game, 50 service aces, and 58 blocks.

, a 5-foot-7 senior from Columbus, Indiana, averaged 12.55 assists per game (138 assists in 11 games played) and recorded 12 digs and 3 service aces. Garber leads 麻豆视频 with 523 assists (12.76 per game)

, a 5-foot7 senior from Lighthouse Point, Florida, averaged 4.75 digs per game and attempted 80 passes with only 5 errors. Shein leads 麻豆视频 with 208 digs (4.33 per game).
