JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/5/2004 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University men's soccer team earned an important TranSouth Conference win as they topped Freed-Hardeman University (Tenn.) 5-1 at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ on Tuesday night. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improves to 5-5-1 overall and 2-1 in the TranSouth. Freed-Hardeman falls to 9-4-1 overall and 0-3 in the league.
For Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Marko Pavlovic got the scoring started with an unassisted goal eight minutes into the game. Gareth Munro then added three straight goals, one in the 11th minute on a penalty kick, the second in the 46th minute unassisted, and the third in the 51st minute with the assist going to Benny Crozier. Gareth now has a team leading 7 goals on the season and was his fourth game-winning goal. The before mentioned Crozier added Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's fifth and final goal in the 59th minute on an assist by Carl Strickland. Freed-Hardeman's goal came in the 65th minute by Stephen Walker, unassisted.
Dickson, Tennessee native Robert Stinson recorded five saves on seven Freed-Hardeman shots. Freed-Hardemen's Andrew Williams tallied two saves on 12 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ shots.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home non-conference match versus Piedmont College (Ga.) at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9.
