JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/27/2004 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University saw a 1-0 advantage slip away to Bethel College (Tenn.) on Monday night as the Wildcats of Bethel win in overtime over Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, 2-1. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ falls to 4-5-1 overall and Bethel moves to 4-3 on the season.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored first in the 10th minute of play on a rebound tap in by Benny Crozier. The Bulldogs held that lead at the half. Bethel's Mario Ulloa Leal tied the game in the 55th minute with a rebound goal of his own. Bethel threatened several time late in regulation, but failed to score the winner. Then in the 7th minute of overtime, Bethel's Malang Jarju scored the game winner for the Wildcats.
For Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Robert Stinson of Dickson, Tennessee, recorded four saves and allowed the two goals in his 98 minutes of work. Bethel's goalie, Andrew Pennycook, recorded three saves and allowed just the one goal in his 98 minutes. Bethel outshot Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 14-6.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home conference match at they host Freed-Hardeman University on Tuesday, October 5 at 7:00 pm. The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ JV soccer team will play at home three times this week with games on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
