JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/28/2004 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University and Reinhardt College (Ga.) played to a 3-3 tie in the final day fo the Jackson College Soccer Challege held at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University. The Bulldogs trailed 3-0 before scoring three goals in the final 22 minutes to earn the tie. The three-goal comeback for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is the largest margin the Bulldogs have rallied from in the short history of the program. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's record goes to 2-0-1 on the season.
Reinhardt led 1-0 at the half the posted two more goals early in the second half. In what looked to be Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's first lost of the season, the Bulldogs started a comeback at the 68th minute of play on a goal by freshman Nikola Djordjevic. Then in the 81st minute, senior captain Redzi Stojiljkovic scored Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's second goal of the match. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ completed the comeback with a second goal by Djordjevic with four minutes to play.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's freshman defender from Scotland, Scott Sinclair, was named the Jackson College Soccer Challenge MVP for his extraordinary defensive efforts during the two-game classic.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's next contest will be Friday, Sept. 3 at the Lambuth Tournament as the Bulldogs will face Belhaven College (Miss.) at 4:00 p.m.
