Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Baseball Signs Juco Shortstop

JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/8/2004 - , of Lakewood, Ohio, has signed to play his final two years of college baseball with the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldogs. Patterson is transferring from Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio. He will join Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a junior and will major in Physical Education.

Patterson, a 5-foot-9 160 lb. shortstop, hit .360 during his sophomore season last year, preceded by a .366 average as a freshman. In his two years at the Juco level, Patterson tallied 42 stolen bases, 54 RBI, 44 walks, and just 20 strikeouts. While at Cuyahoga, he was named All-Conference in both seasons. Patterson set new school records for hits in a career and double plays in a season. Patterson posted a .390 average with 17 stolen bases and 25 RBI in his senior season at Lakewood High School. He was named All-Ohio, All-League, team MVP, Mr. Hustle Award, and was team captain. In high school, Patterson was a two sport athlete. In addition to baseball, he was a three-year starter at guard for the basketball team.
