Davenport Receives NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete Selection

Jackson, Tenn. - 12/4/2001 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University senior, Sarah Davenport was named as a NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete. Davenport is a Sports Medicine major and has a GPA of 3.91.

Davenport, a right side hitter from Bartlett, Tennessee, ranked second on the team with 1.2 blocks per game and averaged 1.6 kills per game. She also ranked fifth in the TranSouth Conference in blocks per game.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ finished the season with a 32-6 record and a No. 28 national ranking. Davenport was a major factor in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ success this season as she helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to the NCCAA MidEast Region championship, NCCAA National Tournament runner-up and runner-up finishes in the TranSouth Conference regular season and tournament. Davenport was named a member of the NCCAA MidEast Region All-Tournament team and was selected as a NCCAA Scholar-Athlete. She also was selected as a second team All-Conference player and a TranSouth Scholar-Athlete.
