JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/5/2004 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's 30th win of the season earns the Lady Bulldogs a spot in the TranSouth Championship game versus Freed-Hardeman. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ defeated Trevecca Nazarene for the third time this season 70-60 in tonight's semifinal game. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 30-3 on the season while Trevecca Nazarene falls to 18-11.
TranSouth Conference Player of the Year, Stephanie Clark, recorded her 14th double double of the season with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Clark had nine point and nine rebounds at the half. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ used 45 second half points to rally from a one point halftime deficit (26-25). Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led by as many at 19 points in the game (59-40). Jennifer Henson added 14 points and four assists for the Lady Bulldogs. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ managed just 43% shooting from the field including a below average 30% (6-20) from behind the arc. Trevecca was led by Lindsey Fly and Leslie Golden with 14 points each. Audrey Leatherman added 10 points for the Lady Trojans.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ now plays Freed-Hardeman University on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. for the TranSouth Conference Championship. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and Freed-Hardeman shared the regular season championship with a 14-2 conference record. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is going for their ninth straight conference championship including all seven TranSouth Titles. The winner of this championship game earns the NAIA's automatic bid to the national tournament as the conference champion and the loser will earn an at-large bid.
