Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Clark Named TranSouth Player of the Week

JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/20/2004 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University junior forward received recognition for her outstanding play last week as she has been named the TranSouth Conference women's basketball Player of the Week. Clark helped lead the No. 3 ranked Lady Bulldogs to a perfect 3-0 week, including two more TranSouth Conference wins. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is now 17-1 overall and 5-0 in league play.

Clark, a 6-foot-2 forward from Artesia, New Mexico, averaged a double-double in her three games last week by scoring 20.7 points and grabbing 10.3 rebounds. In addition, Clark added four steals, four blocks, and three assists to her stats. She shot 66% (27-41) from the field and 80-% (8-10) from the free throw line. Clark posted her best game of the week in a win at No. 21 Berry College when she scored 26 points and tallied 18 rebounds. In the win at Lee University, Clark posted 18 points in 19 minutes of play. Earlier in the week, Clark scored 18 points in the win over Lambuth.

On the season, Clark has been Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's leader since joining the team after Christmas. In her seven games, she is Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ leader in points and rebounds, averaging 18.7 points and 8.1 boards per game. Clark has helped fill the void left by injured three-time NAIA All-American Jessica Henson.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ currently sits atop the with a 5-0 mark. Freed-Hardeman University and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's next opponent, Trevecca Nazarene University also have perfect conference records. On Thursday night, January 22, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will host No. 18 Trevecca Nazarene (10-4; TranSouth 4-0) at 6:00 p.m. The mens game will follow at about 8:00 p.m.
