Three Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Soccer Players Earn NCCAA MidEast Region Honors

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/21/2003 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University soccer team had three players named to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) MidEast Region team. Robert Stinson of Dickson, Tennessee, Kekec Zivkovic of Yugoslavia, and Duncan Nicol of Canada all earned the honors for the 10-5-3 Bulldogs.

, a sophomore goalie, is in his second season as the starting goalkeeper for the Bulldogs. As a freshman, Stinson took over the starting role for injured senior Jeff Lean. Stinson hasn't looked back. In his 13 games and over 1,100 minutes played, Stinson recorded 57 saves and allowed just 19 goals for a 1.49 goals against average. Stinson's season record was 8-4-1 with five shutouts.

, a 6-foot-0 senior forward, has been a four-year started for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. On the season, Zivkovic tallied seven goals and eight assists in his 17 games played. His 22 total points was second on the team.

, a 6-foot-2 freshman midfielder, recorded two goals and five assists on the season in 15 games for the Bulldogs. Nicol, from British Columbia, Canada, has put together a solid freshman season for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

The Bulldogs (10-5-3) open play in their fifth in Orlando, Florida today. Their first round game will be at 4:30 p.m. versus The Masters College (9-8-2). In addition to Friday's game, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will play on Saturday and Monday as the NCCAA Tournament field of eight teams will play for all eight places in the three day tournament. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ enters the tournament as the No.6 seed.
