Jackson, Tenn. - 11/9/2001 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University soccer team had three members named to the TranSouth All-Conference team. Joe Phiri, Redzi Stojiljkovic, and Adrian Yeung. These three players helped lead Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to its first ever TranSouth Championship game and a second place finish in the TranSouth Tournament and runner-up finish in the NCCAA MidEast Regional.
Joe Phiri, a junior forward from Lusaka, Zambia, made the list of All-Conference forwards. Phiri came on strong after a slow start to the season and led the Bulldogs in points. He was the best scorer for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ as he totaled 10 goals and five assists on the season.
A freshman from Nish, Yugoslavia, Redzi Stojiljkovic was selected as an All-Conference defender. Stojiljkovic is a very skilled defender that feeds the ball well to the forwards. He also added a goal and an assist during the season.
Adrian Yeung, a junior midfielder from British Columbia, Canada, was selected at an All-Conference midfielder. Yeung is very explosive with the ball and can create shot by blowing past other defenders. He finished third on the team in points with four goals and three assists on the season.
