Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Harris Reaches 1,000 Points for Career

Jackson, Tenn. - 11/4/2003 - In the first game of his senior season, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University guard scored his 1,000th career point. Going into the season, Harris sat at 997 points for his career. His 13 point effort in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's 110-71 win last Saturday put him over the milestone at 1,010 points.

Harris, a 6-foot-5 guard from Lexington, Kentucky, has been a starter for the Bulldogs since his freshman season. He has played in all but three games during his career and has started in 96 of his 101 games played. For his career, he is averaging 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game. He shoots 49% from the field, including 35% (145-414) from behind the arc, during his career. To this point, his best season occurred as a sophomore when he averaged 10.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game and made 52 three-pointers (.366).

Ralph Turner, in his 10th season as head coach of the Bulldogs, states, "We are very proud of Will and his accomplishments. He's been a solid player for us during his career." Turner goes on to add, "We expect big things from Will in his senior season." Harris' senior season has gotten off to a good start.

Before coming to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Harris was a standout player at Lexington High School where he averaged 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists per game. As a senior, he led his team to the Kentucky State Championship game played in front of 23,000 fans. He was named to the All-State team as a senior.
