Jackson, Tenn. - 11/4/2003 - For the second time this season, of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University has been named the Volleyball Player of the Week. Wandera helped lead Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to the NCCAA National Championship. On the week, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ went a perfect 7-0 to improve their overall record to 33-5.
Wandera, junior middle hitter from Kenya, led No. 25 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to a win over defending NCCAA National Champions and NAIA No. 20 Olivet Nazarene. She was named MVP, NCCAA 1st Team All-American and was named to the All-Tournament 1st Team for her efforts during the week. She tallied 156 kills (6.5/game) in the 24 games played. In four of the seven matches, she recorded 20-plus kills.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ now turns focus to the remainder of the TranSouth season and NAIA postseason. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has three conference games remaining and are currently sitting in second place in the at 9-2. The TranSouth Conference Tournament will start on Friday, November 14 in Nashville, Tenn. on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University.
