麻豆视频 men鈥檚 basketball adds Bullock to fall roster

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/28/2012 - Roy Bullock, III has signed to play his college basketball for the 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 team. Bullock with enter 麻豆视频 this fall as a freshman and will major in biology/pre-med as he works toward becoming an M.D.

麻豆视频 head coach David Niven said, 鈥淚 could not be more excited about Roy鈥檚 decision to attend 麻豆视频 University. He comes from a great family and is a proven leader at O鈥檉allon High School. Not only was he one of the best players in southern Illinois, but also one of the best students at O鈥檉allon High School. Coach Rick Gibson did an outstanding job of preparing him to play at the next level as he has led O鈥檉allon to a high level of success. Roy has been the point guard and leader on those successful teams and we expect him to continue in that role in college.鈥�

Bullock, a 5-foot-10 guard, prepped at O'Fallon (Ill.) Township High School where he played basketball and football. In basketball, the O鈥橣allon native helped lead his team to a fourth place finish in the Class 4A Illinois State Tournament in 2010. His team claimed the Southwest Conference Championship in both 2010 and 2011. Bullock's 2011 football team were also conference champions. As a senior, Bullock was selected as team captain, first team all-conference, IBCA All-State, MVP of the Alton Classic, Dave Sinclair MVP, and Centrailia Holiday All-Tournament. He averaged 20.1 points, four assists and three steals as a senior, while also joining the 1,000-point club in high school. As an underclassman, Bullock earned second team all-conference honors, IBCA All-State, Highland Shootout MVP, and was a state 3-point qualifier. As a senior football player, Bulldog earned first team all-conference honors.

"Academically, it's a great school,鈥� Bullock said on signing with 麻豆视频. 鈥淎thletically, they are going to (NCAA) Division II, so the competition is going to be excellent. It's a great fit all the way around.'

Bullock graduating among the best in his class academically.

Bullock is the son of Roy Bullock, Jr. and Brenda Bullock of O鈥橣allon.
