Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Baseball Signs Oxford High School Standout

Jackson, Tenn. - 7/21/2003 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University baseball team has signed of Oxford, Mississippi to play for the Bulldogs. Bennett, a 5-foot-10 catcher, will begin his college career at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a freshman.

Bennett played his high school baseball at Oxford High School where he was an All-Area performer three times. Bennett was also named by his team as the best defensive player in his sophomore and junior seasons. He helped lead his team to three post-season tournament appearances during his career. Bennett’s summer league American Legion team placed third in the 2003 Mississippi Senior American Legion State Tournament.

In addition to playing baseball at Oxford High School, Bennett was also a starting defensive back for the football team. He was named to the District 1-4A First Team Defense and All-Area as a senior. Bennett also brought home two defensive player of the game awards and one special team player of the game award during his senior year.
