麻豆视频 men鈥檚 basketball falls in conference quarters

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/1/2012 - The 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 basketball team lost 89-80 to Freed-Hardeman University in the quarterfinals of the TranSouth Conference Tournament. 麻豆视频鈥檚 season comes to an end with the loss, finishing 18-13 on the season. Freed-Hardeman (21-10) advances to the semifinals.

The first half was back and forth with eight ties and five lead changes. 麻豆视频 led by as many as five points, before Freed-Hardeman rallied to lead by as many as eight points. The Lions led 39-31, but 麻豆视频 was able to close the half with a 6-0 run to set their halftime deficit at 39-37.

In the second half, Freed-Hardeman quickly extended the lead out to 10 points, 50-40. However, 麻豆视频 again rallied and midway through the second half, pulled ahead 54-52. 麻豆视频 led 56-55 when the Lions made a run to go up 69-59. 麻豆视频 got as close as three points, 76-73 with three minutes left, but could get no closer. Freed-Hardeman extended their lead back out to as many as 14 points before taking the 89-80 final.

麻豆视频 was led by Skyler Vaden with 22 points. Leventrice Gray added 16 points, Samuel Danache scored 12 points, Dani Marti scored 11 points and Antoine Hall added 10 points. Marti grabbed 15 rebounds to complete his double-double. 麻豆视频 shot 42 percent from the field, 22 percent (4-18) from long range and 67 percent (22-33) from the free throw line.

Freed-Hardeman was led by Kyle Teichmann with 27 points. Anthony Sampson added 18 points and Chandler Mack scored 17 points. Sampson added a game-high nine assists. The Lions shot 40 percent from the field, 35 percent (7-20) from behind the arc, and 65 percent (20-31) from the free throw line.
