No. 2 麻豆视频 closes out regular season with 69-43 win

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 2/23/2012 - The No. 2 麻豆视频 University women鈥檚 basketball team closed out the regular season with a 69-43 win at Trevecca Nazarene University. 麻豆视频 improved to 28-2 on the season and 15-1 in the TranSouth. Trevecca dropped to 10-17 overall and 6-9 in league play.

The win for 麻豆视频 was the 12th straight victory for 麻豆视频. The Lady Bulldogs have won the TranSouth regular season title for the sixth straight season. 麻豆视频 will open play in the conference tournament Tuesday night at home as the top-seed.

麻豆视频 opened the game with a 9-0 run and never looked back. 麻豆视频 extended their first half lead to as many as 15 points, 39-24, before going to halftime leading 39-25. Lavanda Ross and Mildred Olumasi both led 麻豆视频 with 10 points at the break.

In the second half, 麻豆视频 extended their lead to as many as 30 points on two different occasions, 66-36 and 69-39. 麻豆视频 took the 69-43 final.

麻豆视频 has held seven of their last nine opponents to less than 50 points scored. 麻豆视频 has also held all 30 regular season opponents to less than 70 points. 麻豆视频 is No. 3 in the NAIA with 51 points allowed per game.

麻豆视频 was led by the reigning TranSouth Player of the week, Ross, with 20 points. This is the third time in the last four games for Ross to reach at least 20 points. Rebecca Sharpe scored 12, while Mildred Olumasi posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. 麻豆视频 shot 40 percent from the field, 34 percent (12-35) from behind the arc, and 58 percent (7-12) from the free throw line.

Trevecca Nazarene was led by Anna Mitchell with 14 points and nine rebounds. The Trojans shot 30 percent from the field, 10 percent (1-10) from long range, and 62 percent (8-13) from the free throw line.
