Â鶹ÊÓƵ scored the first eight points of the game on their way to a 21-6 lead after six minutes of play. Â鶹ÊÓƵ led by 15 points again later in the half at 24-9.

However, Freed-Hardeman outscored Â鶹ÊÓƵ 64-46 over the final 30 minutes of play. The Lions posted a 9-0 run to cut the Â鶹ÊÓƵ lead down to six points, only to be stopped momentarily by a three pointer from Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Antoine Hall. Freed-Hardeman continued to rally and with 5:08 left in the half, had cut the lead down to just two points. In the second half, Â鶹ÊÓƵ seemed to regain control and with 15:26 left in the game, had their lead back to double figures at 48-38. But once again, the Lions rallied with a 20-10 run over the next seven minutes to tie the game at 58-58. The game produced three ties and three lead changes over the final eight minutes.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ took the lead 70-69 after Skyler Vaden converted a three-point play with 1:13 left to play. After turnover by Freed-Hardeman with 55 seconds left, Â鶹ÊÓƵ had the ball and the lead. However, a missed shot and a tip out by the Lions created a fast break. Jonathan Milewski drained a 3-pointer for the Lions with 19 seconds left to give his team the 72-70 lead. Â鶹ÊÓƵ missed on their next shot and Kyle Teichmann pulled down the rebound for the Lions. With five seconds left, Teichman made one of two free throw, giving Â鶹ÊÓƵ one last chance to tie. However, David Lane’s 3-pointer at the buzzer was long.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ was led by Antony Freeman, Jr. and Hall with 13 points each. Vaden added 12 points. Leventrice Gray and Lane each scored nine points. Â鶹ÊÓƵ shot 44 percent from the field, 33 percent (8-24) from 3-point range, and 77 percent (10-13) from the free throw line.
