麻豆视频 men鈥檚 basketball gets first overtime win of season, 78-72 at Lyon

BATESVILLE, Ark. - 2/9/2012 - The 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 basketball team posted a 78-72 overtime win at Lyon College Thursday night. 麻豆视频 improved to 16-9 on the season and 9-2 in the TranSouth. Lyon dropped to 7-16 overall and 1-10 in league play.

麻豆视频鈥檚 David Lane sank two free throws with three seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 64-64. 麻豆视频 led 29-26 at the half and maintained a small lead for most of the second half. However, Lyon pulled ahead and led by as many as four points in the final minute. 麻豆视频 was able to tie the game and force the extra period. 麻豆视频 outscored Lyon 14-8 in the overtime period to escape with the win.

This was the second straight overtime game for 麻豆视频 and third extra period of the season for the Bulldogs. 麻豆视频 is now 1-2 in overtime games on the season.

David Lane led five 麻豆视频 players in double figures with 21 points, 16 points coming in the second half and overtime. Anthony Freeman, Jr., Leventrice Gray, and Antoine Hall each scored 12 points, while Skyler Vaden added 10 points. 麻豆视频 shot 45 percent from the field, 37 percent (7-19) from behind the arc, and 63 percent (19-30) from the free throw line.

Lyon was led by Kendall Leeks with 20 points. Daniel Ritchie added 18 points and CJ Blount recorded a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. The Scots shot 39 percent from the field, 39 percent (10-26) from long range, and 40 percent (4-10) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a game Saturday, Feb. 11 versus Freed-Hardeman at 4:00 p.m.
