BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - 1/21/2012 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University basketball teams earned a double-header sweep Saturday at Blue Mountain College.
No. 3 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women's basketball wins 89-53 at Blue Mountain (Miss.). Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improves to 19-2 on the season and 6-1 in the TranSouth. Amy Philamlee scored a career high 18 points in the game. Shelby Ashcraft (17), Astrid Huttemann (14), Emily Sissom (12) and Lavanda Ross (10) also scored double figures. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 58-25 at the half.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University men's basketball wins 75-63 at Blue Mountain (Miss.). Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is 13-7 on the season after their fifth straight win. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also improved their conference record to a league best 6-1. Antoine Hall led with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. David Lane (12), Dani Marti (11) and Skyler Vaden (10) also scored double figures. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 27-22 at the half.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home double-header Thursday versus Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.). The women’s game will start at 6 p.m. with the men’s game to follow at 8:00 p.m.
