麻豆视频 softball signs Bolton鈥檚 Chandler

JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/18/2012 - The 麻豆视频 University softball team has signed of Rosemark, Tenn. Chandler will enter 麻豆视频 this fall as a freshman and will major in athletic training.

Chandler, a 5-foot-5 catcher, third baseman and outfielder, prepped at Bolton (Tenn.) High School where she played softball and volleyball. In 2011, she helped lead her softball team to a state quarterfinal appearance after winning the district and region titles. In 2010, her team finished second in the district and region. Chandler's 2009 team won the district title and finished runner-up in the region. Chandler also helped her summer league team, the Germantown Lady Red Devils, to the 2010 and 2011 ASA Memphis Metro Championships.

In 2011, she hit a team-high .451 with 55 hits, 42 RBI, 26 runs, and nine home runs. As a junior, Chandler was named all-state by the Tennessee Sports Writers, Best of the Preps, Commercial Appeal All-Metro, Commercial Appeal Female Player of the Week, all-district, and all-tournament. She was also awarded Bolton athletic awards including Best Overall Player, Will to Win award, and 3D Player of the Week. In addition, Chandler added all-district, all-tournament, Will to Win award, and Memorial Tournament MVP honors as a sophomore. Chandler was named the Bolton Rookie of the Year as a freshman and was the 2006 NFSA Nationals 12U Home Run Derby Champion.

Off the field, Chandler was a member of the National Beta Club, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Chandler is the daughter of David and Casey Chander and is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tenn.
