McLaughlin ties 麻豆视频 record for assists in a game

JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/6/2011 - 麻豆视频 University starting point guard tied the 麻豆视频 record with 14 assists in the Lady Bulldog鈥檚 75-47 win at Tougaloo (Miss.) on November 30. She ties former 麻豆视频 standout Shea Piercey who recorded 14 assists in a game during the 1987-88 season.

McLaughlin, a 5-foot-5 sophomore from Millington, Tenn., is in her second season with 麻豆视频. She is averaging 5.5 points per game, but is leading 麻豆视频 with 58 total assists, 5.3 per game. McLaughlin has started all 11 games for 麻豆视频. In addition to being the leader in assists, she is also one of the top 3-point shooters on the team. McLaughlin is shooting 50 percent from long range, 14-of-28. Her 14 made 3-pointers is good for third on the team.

McLaughlin was named to the TranSouth All-Freshman team last season.

McLaughlin is looking to help 麻豆视频 repeat at TranSouth Regular Season and Tournament champions. She was a key player off the bench last season as 麻豆视频 advanced to their seventh straight NAIA semifinal and fifth title game during that stretch. 麻豆视频 fell just short of winning a third straight national title in 2011.
