No. 2 麻豆视频 rolls past Rust 80-32

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/29/2011 - The No. 2 麻豆视频 University women鈥檚 basketball team posted an 80-32 win over Rust (Miss.) College Tuesday at Fred DeLay Gymnasium. 麻豆视频 improved to 9-1 on the season.

The win for 麻豆视频 was their 27th straight home win. The Lady Bulldogs have won 87 of their last 88 home games.

麻豆视频 scored the first five points, including a three pointer from Astrid Huttemann. The Lady Bulldogs never looked back as they quickly pushed their lead out to 20-2 following a three pointer from Amy Philamlee at the 9:25 mark. 麻豆视频鈥檚 halftime lead of 24 points, 36-12, was their largest of the half.

麻豆视频 controlled the second half as they extended their lead to as many as 48 points twice in the half, including the final score of 80-32.

All 11 players for 麻豆视频 playing in the game, with 10 reaching the scoring column. Lavanda Ross, the two-time reigning TranSouth Player of the Week, led 麻豆视频 with 14 points. Adenike Dawodu added 13 points, a career high for the freshman. Philamlee scored all 11 of her points in the first half, including three 3-pointers. 麻豆视频 shot 44 percent from the field, 39 percent (12-31) from long range, and 67 percent (12-18) from the free throw line.

Rust was led by Kala Williams with 10 points. Jessica Brown added eight points. Rust shot 30 percent from the field, 13 percent (1-8) from three point range, and 33 percent (5-15) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a road game on Wednesday at Tougaloo (Miss.) College.
