No. 22 麻豆视频 men fall to No. 13 Tougaloo 74-63

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/26/2011 - The No. 22 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 basketball dropped their second game to No. 13 Tougaloo (Miss.) College in the span of seven days, this time 74-63. 麻豆视频 fell to 4-5 on the season, while Tougaloo improved to 8-3 overall.

麻豆视频 lost 78-69 at Tougaloo last Saturday.

Tougaloo opened the game with a 7-0 run, followed by 麻豆视频 tying the game with seven straight points themselves. The first half was back and forth with three ties and eight lead changes over the first 20 minutes of play. 麻豆视频 led by as many as six points, while Tougaloo led by as many as seven points in the first half. The half ended with Tougaloo clinging to a 35-34 lead.

In the second half, much of the same. 麻豆视频 opened the half with a three pointer form Skyler Vaden to take a lead. 麻豆视频 led by as many as five points in the second half and held a slim 55-53 lead with 9:17 left to play. However, 麻豆视频 went cold from the field, and Tougaloo鈥檚 Donteeno Todd took over. The game was tied 57-57 with 7:19 to play. Tougaloo the posted an 11-2 run over the next six minutes to lead 68-59. The run was capped when Todd took a 麻豆视频 turnover and sank a three pointer to give his team the nine point lead. 麻豆视频 cut it down to seven points on the next possession, but got no closer. Tougaloo was able to take the 11-point win.

麻豆视频 was led by Skyler Vaden and Antoine Hall with 14 points each. All nine players that played scored for 麻豆视频 but it was not enough. 麻豆视频 shot 36 percent from the field, 38 percent (11-29) from long range and 71 percent (12-17) from the free throw line.

Tougaloo was led by Todd with 24 points. Marquise Mems added a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Tougaloo out-rebounded 麻豆视频 45-34, including a 17-10 advantage on the offensive glass. Tougaloo shot 39 percent from the field, 30 percent (8-27) from behind the arc and 67 percent (18-27) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a road game at Belhaven (Miss.) Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
