No. 2 麻豆视频 rallies to win 55-50 at Oklahoma Baptist

SHAWNEE, Okla. - 11/25/2011 - The No. 2 ranked 麻豆视频 University women鈥檚 basketball team posted a 55-50 win at Oklahoma Baptist University Friday afternoon. 麻豆视频 survived the upset bid to remain perfect on the season at 8-0. Oklahoma Baptist dropped to 2-4 on the season.

麻豆视频 trailed by eight points at the half, 23-15 and by as many as 13 points in the second half before rallying for the win.

After a 2-2 start to the game, Oklahoma Baptist jumped out to a 9-2 lead and maintained a lead for the entire first half. 麻豆视频 managed just 15 points in the first half.

Despite the lack of offense, 麻豆视频鈥檚 defense continued to play strong. 麻豆视频 is allowing just 52 points per game on the season.

In the second half, Oklahoma Baptist continued to hold and lead and with 13:20 left to play, led by their largest margin of 37-24.

However, after scoring just 24 points in the first 27 minutes of play, 麻豆视频 began to make shots. 麻豆视频 posted a 21-7 run over the next eight minutes to lead 45-44. The run was capped off by a 3-point play from Adnike Dawodu. 麻豆视频 held Oklahoma Baptist scoreless for a five minute stretch during that run.

麻豆视频 trailed one more time momentarily 46-45, but following a three pointer from LaTesa McLaughlin, 麻豆视频 took the lead for good. 麻豆视频 sank 5-of-6 free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

麻豆视频 was led by the reigning TranSouth Player of the Week, Lavanda Ross, with 26 points. She has scored at least 25 points in four of her last five games. McLaughlin added 10 points while Amy Philamlee scored nine points. 麻豆视频 shot just 28 percent from the field and 20 percent (5-25) from behind the arc. However, 麻豆视频 was 4-of-7 from three point range in the second half. 麻豆视频 added 75 percent (18-24) from the free throw line in the game.

Oklahoma Baptist was led by Lillian Prince with 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field. Bridget Reynolds added 13 points for the Lady Bison. Oklahoma Baptist shot 38 percent from the field, 27 percent (4-15) from long range and 61 percent (8-13) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a No. 2 versus No. 3 battle when the Lady Bulldogs face Oklahoma City Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
