Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ individuals finish in cross country nationals

VANCOUVER, Wash. - 11/19/2011 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University cross country qualified three runners for the 2011 NAIA Cross Country National Championships. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men’s runner Alex Bett finished 36th, while Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women’s runners Audrey Hazlehurst and Allison Martin finished 108th and 114th respectively.

Bett’s 36th place finish was just six spots off the All-American position. The top 30 finishers in the race are named to the All-American team. His 36th finish was also his career best in his four NAIA National Tournaments. Bett ran the 8K event in a time of 25:00.

Hazelhurst, a former USJ standout, finished with a 19:31 in the 5K event in just her first national tournament. Martin, of Montrose, Colo., finished 114th in her second national tournament with a time of 19:34. This was Martin’s best finish in the nationals to this point in her career.
