KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 11/10/2011 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University senior has been named to the NAIA’s Preseason Baseball All-America team. The 17-member team was selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association All-America Selection Committee.
Joyce, a 6-foot-4 catcher from Stanwood, Wash., is entering in senior season with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. Last season as a junior, Joyce was named first team TranSouth All-Conference and earned a TranSouth Rawlings Gold Glove. He hit .314 last season with a team high 58 hits, seven doubles, two triples, five home runs and 31 RBI. Behind the plate, Joyce posted a .991 fielding percentage with just three errors in 324 chances. Joyce threw out 20 base runners out of 44 attempts for a .455 percentage.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ opens the season February 10-11, 2012 with a three-game weekend series at home against Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College.
