Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ volleyball stays alive in conference tourney

PULASKI, Tenn. - 11/8/2011 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University volleyball team remained alive in the 2011 TranSouth Conference Volleyball Championships with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-20) win over Cumberland University in an elimination match. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improved to 14-20 on the season, while Cumberland ends their season at 12-25.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ took charge early with 4-0 start to the first set and never looked back.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Kami Dickerson with nine kills, while all-conference players Anna Sims and Savannah Hughes added eight kills each. All-conference setter Emmie Moroski added 31 assists, Lydia Wright led with 14 digs and Sims led with eight blocks.

Cumberland was led by several players with three kills each. Meghan Gass added 30 assists, Brooke Bowers led with 12 digs, and Rylee Butler led with four blocks.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a 6 p.m. match Tuesday night versus the Martin Methodist College/Lyon College winner.
