麻豆视频 women鈥檚 soccer tops Cumberland 1-0

LEBANON, Tenn. - 10/25/2011 - The 麻豆视频 University women鈥檚 soccer team kept their hopes of at least a share of the regular season championship alive with a road 1-0 win at Cumberland University. 麻豆视频 improved to 9-2-2 on the season and 4-0-1 in the TranSouth. Cumberland dropped to 9-6-0 overall and 0-5 in league play.

麻豆视频 also remained in the NAIA rankings released today in the receiving votes section.

The match鈥檚 lone goal came late in the first half. Terilyn Wassell scored on an assist from Christina Reardon with just 41 seconds left in the first half. 麻豆视频 outshot Cumberland 9-4 in the first 45 minutes. In the second half, 麻豆视频 managed 10 shots to just three from Cumberland, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. 麻豆视频 led 7-3 in shots on goal.

The two-time reigning TranSouth Defensive Player of the Week, Emily Warren, posted her third straight shutout and seventh on the season. She recorded two saves in the match. Elizabeth Surdam recorded six saves in the loss.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be their senior night game Friday, Oct. 28 versus Trevecca Nazarene University at 5:00 p.m.
