麻豆视频 women鈥檚 soccer tops Bethel 2-0

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/18/2011 - The 麻豆视频 University women鈥檚 soccer team stayed on pace atop the TranSouth Conference standings with a 2-0 win over Bethel University Tuesday night at the Smith Memorial Soccer Complex. 麻豆视频 improved to 7-2-2 on the season and 3-0-1 in league play. Bethel dropped to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in the conference. Both teams are receiving votes in the latest NAIA rankings.

麻豆视频鈥檚 Dionna Linn scored the game-winner early in the match when she took a pass from Christina Reardon and scored hit the top, left corner of the goal in the 12th minute of play. The score remained 1-0 until late in the match when 麻豆视频 added some insurance. Terylin Wassell scored with five minutes to play on an assist from Ashley Watson.

麻豆视频 and Bethel recorded 12 shots each in the match, with 麻豆视频 edging out Bethel 8-7 in shots on goal. 麻豆视频鈥檚 Emily Warren, the reigning TranSouth Defensive Player of the Week, recorded her fifth shutout on the season with seven saves. Jessica Coates took the loss, allowing two goals and recorded five saves.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a non-conference road match on Saturday at 麻豆视频 (Ky.) College.
